The Brazilian media mogul, Nizan Guanaes, is underwriting a new fashion initiative, ‘Claro Rio Summer’, to refocus attention on the country that gave the world the ‘thong-bikini.’
‘Claro Rio Summer’, which will become an annual event, is a week of fashion and festivities to showcase swimwear, resort and cruise collections for next spring/summer, taking place on the legendary Ipanema and Copacabana beaches in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil.

The event features 16 of Brazil’s top swimwear and resort brands including Rosa Clara, Adriana Degreas and Blue Man. The catwalk shows are being staged in two 500-seater marquees built in the grounds of the historic Copacabana Fort overlooking Ipanema and Copacabana beaches.
