The Winner of Australian Men's Health Man of the Year

In January, we published an article about Australian Men's Health Man of the Year award 2009. The winner was announced today. The chosen six finalists attended an awards evening in Sydney and competed for the three categories up for grabs: the 2009 Men's Health Man Award, the NIVEA FOR MEN Face of the Year Award and the Women's Health Readers' Choice Award. (Picture below) Six finalists: Mick Jessop, Stephen Denney, Bradley Smith,, Khan Porter, Jason Lavrick and Julian Growcott.

.. and the winner of Men's Health Man of the Year is Julian Growcott, who is on the magazine cover of April issue.

This 33-year-old primary school teacher from Melbourne does his best to be a fit and healthy role model for his students. As it is, his well-balanced lifestyle, killer physique and down-to-earth nature made him the perfect man to represent Men's Health. See more photos of Julian after the jump.

NIVEA FOR MEN Face of the Year goes to Bradley Smith, 30-year-old customs officer.

WOMEN'S HEALTH READERS' CHOICE AWARD is Jason Lavrick, 28-year-old telecommunications technician.

   

Ryan Reynolds covers Men’s Health March 2009

Hollywood heartthrob Ryan Reynolds graces on double cover of the March 2009 of Men’s Health magazine. In the interview with the magazine, Ryan talks about, his love for motorcycles, running the marathon and on being successful.

Men's Health Man of the Year 2009

Australian Men's Health magazine is searching for Mr Fit 2009 with their Man of the Year competition. Here're the 12 finalists including a teacher, scientist, lifeguard, carpenter and finance consultant - plus four personal trainers.

Judges say they are looking for an "typical knockabout Australian guy'' instead of a model or celebrity for the front page of the magazine for the first time in its 11-year history. You can vote for your favourite and win the prizes HERE!

The finalists stripped down to their boardshorts for a sizzling photo shoot at Kurnell last week. We have four more photos of these shirtless men after the jump.
