Fashion designer Tom Ford, the guy who from 1994 to 2004 was the creative director of Gucci, has now stepped into film director shoes with his debut, A Single Man. The film bases on the novel by Christopher Isherwood, starring Colin Firth, Julianne Moore, Matthew Goode and Nicholas Hoult.

"A Single Man" centers on an English professor George Falconer (Colin Firth) who loses his partner, Jim (Matthew Goode) in a car crash. Because of the hidden nature of their relationship, Falconer is unable to openly express his grief after losing his lover of 16 years and reunites with a past lover, Charley, played by Julianne Moore.
Not only did the movie win the Queer Lion for best gay-themed film at the Venice Film Festival, but Colin Firth was awarded best actor. Check out the trailer after the jump.
